The Irish Ki-Aikido Association was founded in Galway in 1993 by Sensei Paul Marchant 7th Dan.

In 1999 members and friends of the Galway Ki-Aikido club built a dojo in Doorus, Kinvara, Co. Galway as the new headquarters of the Irish Ki-Aikido Association.  The construction is timber post and beam with straw bale walls.  The finished mat size is 78sq.m.  The Doorus dojo is used for the practice of Ki-Aikido and Yoga.  Adult members train in the Doorus dojo on Monday and Thursday nights from 8:00pm to 9:30pm with Sensei Paul.  Kids train on Wednesday nights 6:30pm to 7:30pm with Sensei Pádraig Ó’Mairtín 5th Dan.

In Feb 2018, the Ennis dojo was opened by Sensei Kevin Sorohan 5th Dan.
